Does it work without any key?
The onboarding, profile and briefing run keyless (the briefing then uses a deterministic composer instead of Claude). python -m voice check runs keyless. Calls, research and mail triage need keys.
Has it been tested on real calls?
No. Everything is tested offline in the real pipecat pipeline with fake services. Barge-in timing values are defaults, not measurements, and speech quality over an 8 kHz phone line (English or Slovak) is unverified. Make your first call to yourself and listen.
Can I turn off the AI disclosure, or change its text?
No. It is not a setting and must not become one (Call rules).
Can VOX call lists of people?
No, never. There is no bulk dialler, no list import and no cold ring (Call rules).
Which telephony providers are supported?
Twilio, or Telnyx Call Control v2 for calls, texts and PIN call-in. WhatsApp is Twilio only. Telnyx has not run against a real account.
Can I run it without ElevenLabs?
Yes, with your own Piper and whisper.cpp servers (Local speech). With both, no ElevenLabs key is needed. Latency and quality on a real call are unverified.
Is there an English user interface?
Yes. The console, public site, operator panel, CLI and documentation are English. Calls speak English by default; Slovak is an optional call language.
Can the SaaS operator read customers' transcripts?
Not through the panel: it shows accounts, plans, usage counts and money only. The data is on your server, so treat it under your privacy policy.
Does it contact MIKODES?
No licence check, no phone-home, no telemetry.
Can I try it with sample data?
python scripts/make_demo.py /path/to/new-dir builds a clearly labelled DEMO data directory (demo operator, "Demo Tenant 1…5", demo plans, signed demo Stripe events) without touching the network. It refuses app/data and any non-empty directory. Never serve a demo directory publicly unless it runs with VOX_PUBLIC_DEMO=1: its passwords are printed.
Can PC actions control my computer from a server?
No. PC actions work only in single-user mode, on the machine VOX runs on. In Docker they touch the container's files. A hosted SaaS server never touches its own files on a customer's behalf.
Is there a mobile or desktop app?
No. Users talk to VOX by phone and use the web console. Push notifications are not built; Telegram covers "a message on my phone without SMS".
How many services may I run?
Your licence decides. Read its terms where you bought the item before you charge users.
